Here's the result of my freezer paper stencil experiment from yesterday. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. My husband will probably throw this pillow on the floor with the rest of the couch pillows that he claims get in the way of his comfort on the couch. Silly men.

Tape Pattern Pillow
Did you see How About Orange today? I'm dying to try her tape pillow! I'm definitely adding it to my LONG list of things I want to make. Have you ever used fabric paint? I'm clueless.

Yes, I'm absolutely ignoring the fact that we haven't posted for almost a month. My baby is crawling everywhere. I'm freaking out! Want more excuses?

love this pillow
My mom sent me the link to this awesome smocked pillow tutorial. I'm kinda into smocking lately. Remember this post? Anyway, check out this gorgeous pillow! I told my husband I wanted to make it but that he wouldn't be allowed to lay on it. His response was, "What's the point in having a pillow if you cant lay on it?" Silly man.

Pillow in the Round
Would you believe me if I told you (ohoooo darling!, you know, like The Beatles song...) that this round pillow was made from a square pillow form?
Do you see that smocking? Yep, I smocked! And the button in the center...oh it's so cute! The fabric is from Heather Bailey's Nicey Jane line. I love the way the bright green, yellow and teals look against the blue chair. I used a pattern from the One Yard Wonders book. Have you seen the book? It's FAB! I need my own copy (instead of borrowing my mother's) because there are so many awesome patterns in it!

Plate Wall
Do you mind if we take a quick break from hand made and move to Interiors? (My educational background is Interior Design.)I saw this post here, and now I am thinking of changing my hoops to plates. It reminds me of my Grandma's house, but with modern style. I am now wishing I had photos of my Grandma's plate wall. She collected plates from all of the places she visited. (I had one from Amish country with a quilt on it and I broke it - drat.) Now her run down house is gone, and my sister's beautiful house stands in it's stead. I am missing the plate wall.

Ruffled
Funny that Bonny included a ruffle pillow in her post yesterday. I just added this tutorial to my favorites last week. From Kelly + Olive via Craft Gossip. (Photo from Kelly + Olive)Monday, July 13, 2009
Throw Me Some
There's nothing I want more than to fill my couch with an exciting variety of throw pillows. I want to use a wide range of shapes and textures. I'm thinking pompom trim, something patchwork, shiny satin....anyone heard of a triangle shaped pillow? Here is what I found doing inspirational research on Etsy today.
Great texture!
I love the turquoise on blue!

Goodies
I'm behind on a lot of things these days. Today my Google Reader had over 800 unread items. I sifted through a few of them but decided the best thing to do is to "mark all items as read" and start fresh.
Here are a few goodies I've starred lately:

Hourglass
I have one client that I go the extra mile for. I am currently working on every window in her home, room by room. It is taking me a few years to make new treatments for the whole house. By the time I have done them all, she may want to start all over. I hope not. Windows aren't my favorite.

Birdie Branch
It snowed a foot at my house yesterday. Yep 12 whole inches. I might have gave up on life, but then I found this birdie mobile and tutorial. This is now on the top of my favorite things I am dying to make list. Thank you Spool Sewing! Click here for the free pattern.
